Screenshots of Microsoft’s creative director disregarding rural gamers have circulated the internet after he stated that “Always On” consoles are receiving undeserved hate.

Adam Orth tweeted that he does not “get the drama around having an “always on” console”, where the senior gameplay designer of BioWare, Manveer Heir, reminded him about the outburst by gamers in relation to Diablo III and SimCity.

He then stated that “electricity goes out too”, where Heir rebutted that Adam had always lived in big cities, and to consider small towns where internet connectivity is not as good as the big cities.

Heir then tweeted after the screenshots had made the internet rounds that it was simply friendly banter and Orth is not a bad guy. Unfortunately, the damage had been already done.

The internet may be assuming that the next Xbox will be an “Always Online” console. For now, it looks like the masses will not buy the next iteration of Xbox, or will flock to rival Sony, and their Playstation product.
